Springtide Comes in the Time of COVID-19

Spring rains fall on butter-hued daffodils
That no one pauses to admire.

Warming breezes ruffle bud-laden limbs,
But no one bears witness.

The damp air is heady with vernal petrichor,
Yet our masks filter this redolence, too.
